The Martian face structure and Martian woman hologram seem to have a design based on Ancient Egyptian art of women. At the end of the film, when the face structure is collapsing as the Martian starship is preparing to takeoff out of it, the nose of the face falls off, just like the Great Sphinx of Giza is missing its nose.
