Mary-Louise Parker stated in several interviews that she not only agreed with her character being nude in the series, she actually enjoyed being naked on set. She's never been self-conscious about her body. But that didn't mean she loved every scene that required her to strip. In the Season 4 finale, Parker appeared naked in the bath tub for an extended scene, but didn't find it necessary for the story. When she voiced her reservations about it, some fans thought she had been forced to do it. She quickly stated publicly that that was not the case, saying, "They made it sound like I was like, 'They made me take my clothes off and chained me to the bathtub. She clarified her statement, assuring viewers that there were no on-set quarrels. "I was talking about that scene as an example of something I didn't love as much when I saw it because they kept cutting back and I was naked, but they liked the position of it."
