When Alan Parker, the acclaimed director of "Fame", died in late July of 2020, his last film would turn out to be 2003's "The Life Of David Gale" starring Kevin Spacey and Kate Winslet. There is a scene in the film, set in a college university classroom, where Spacey, playing a professor, asks his young students to philosophically ruminate on the nature of "fame", both in terms of it's relative moral value in society and it's relation between fantasy and reality, especially in terms of it's inevitable capacity to cause profound disillusionment.
