This is the second time that director Robert Eggers has worked with Willem Dafoe (who was in The Lighthouse (2019)), and also Eggers' second time working with Anya Taylor-Joy, Kate Dickie and Ralph Ineson, who were all in his feature debut The Witch (2015).
