The film in 1978 was nominated for two Golden Globe awards in the categories of Best Motion Picture - Drama and Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for Kathleen Quinlan but lost out on both counts respectively to Due vite una svolta (1977) and Jane Fonda for Giulia (1977). Ironically, Quinlan had recently appeared in a tele-movie called The Turning Point of Jim Malloy (1975).
