The writers asked Larry Riley to come in after Lynne Moody, as a recurring role of Frank Williams, just a few episodes before, is because of their own advice. Moody stayed on until her departure in 1990, while Riley was promoted to being a regular cast member until his departure in 1992, around the time he was dying of AIDS.
