After Season 6, the show was moved to the USA Network after NBC decided to drop the show from its prime-time lineup following the failure of Law & Order - Il verdetto (2005). The show's budget was trimmed somewhat in the process as Annabella Sciorra and Courtney B. Vance were dropped from the show. Jamey Sheridan left due to health reasons. The format of Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe and Chris Noth and newcomer Julianne Nicholson remained the same, with Eric Bogosian replacing Sheridan as captain. The show ran four more seasons on the cable network.
