The only film in the Police Story quadrilogy to be rated R in the US (most likely due to the darker drug trafficking plot), as the other three (Police Story, Police Story II, Police Story IV: First Strike) were rated PG-13. Ironically, this is the only Police Story film to be released by Dimension Films in the US, while the other three would be released by New Line Cinema.
