Nigel Green was taller than the real-life Colour Sergeant Bourne, who was 5' 6" (1.68 m). At 40, Green was also significantly older than Bourne, who at 24 was the youngest Colour Sergeant in the British Army. He retired a Lieutenant Colonel and died on May 8, 1945, the last of the Rorkes' Drift survivors.
