Besides the statue mimicking Michaelangelo's David, but as a flayed man, in his laboratory, David has another mockery of a Christian icon there also: an early form of a baby Neomorph strung up on a cross-like structure, which is clearly a mockery of Jesus Christ. This is doubly significant since in the original script of Prometheus (2012), it was to be revealed that the Engineers, before abandoning humanity, sent one of their kind to guide them to a more peaceful way of life.
