The late Miriam Defensor Santiago initially accepted the role of Justice Hernandez but later declined it or dropped out due to production being in conflict with the 2016 election campaign period. In accordance with COMELEC rules along with administrative and election laws, political candidates are strictly not allowed to appear in any non-news or non-informative program such as films and television series during the campaign period as such actions would be considered advertising time or advertisements.
