All three of the actors who have played Jack Crawford in the film series have made another film with one of the directors. Dennis Farina and Michael Mann worked together on Strade violente (1981), Crime Story (1986), and Heat - La sfida (1995). In the latter, rather than acting, Farina was a consultant, since he actually worked on the case the film is based on during his time as a police officer. Scott Glenn and Jonathan Demme worked together on Gli angeli pestano duro (1971) and Fighting Mad (1976). Ridley Scott and Harvey Keitel never worked together in the same film in this series, but did work together on I duellanti (1977) and Thelma & Louise (1991).
