Paul Feig thinks Kristen Wiig is similar to someone like Chris Farley, in that both performers "have comedy in their veins." Her turn toward dramatic material made him think she wouldn't be interested in this film, but Wiig actually reached out to Feig to request a role, even if it was just a small one.
