On the ninth floor down the group encounters a man in a black robe sitting on a throne. In Dante's Inferno, Treachery is the Ninth Circle of Hell and is said to hold Satan himself. There are a very large number of similarities between As Above So Below and Dante's Inferno. Given this, the man is the black robe can very well be Satan himself
