This film was originally going to be released in 1999 but it was moved to 2000 after losing release dates to other animated films, including Il gigante di ferro (1999), the English dub of Pokémon - Il film (1998), South Park - Il film: Più grosso, più lungo & tutto intero (1999), and Toy Story 2 - Woody & Buzz alla riscossa (1999).
