Alfred, who is at risk of dying from MacGregor's Syndrome, is cured by a vaccine developed by Mr. Freeze. In the comics, pieces of his freezing gun are used in emergency surgery to treat a deathly ill Aunt Harriet. Ironically, that character was brought into the 1960s comics when Alfred was "killed off", and then phased out when Alfred was "resurrected".
