Despite their prominence in the series, especially in the Sunday's family dinner, Betty and Mary Reagan never appear in the series, as they died before the time covered by the series: Betty (Henry's wife) by disease on December 2, 2001, and Mary Reagan (Frank's wife, Henry's daughter-in-law and mother of Danny, Jamie, Joe and Erin) by cancer on September 14, 2005.
