There is no evidence that Marilyn Monroe ever had an abortion, much less forced abortions as portrayed in the movie. It is well-documented that Monroe first had a miscarriage in 1956, then an ectopic pregnancy in 1957, and a third miscarriage in 1958, all during her marriage to Arthur Miller. Monroe's gynecologist, Dr. Leon Khron, stated that she never had an abortion. The abortions portrayed in the movie were taken from Joyce Carol Oates' fictional novel.
