Regarding season seven. O'Brien was the first regular Star Trek character to be established as being married from the start of a Trek series. (He had gotten married in Star Trek: The Next Generation: Data's Day (1991) as a recurring character on Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987)). In addition, Sisko was the first Star Trek Captain to be permanently married when he wed Kassidy Yates.
