Titles considered for this ninth entry in the Star Trek movie franchise included "Millennium" (presumably because this was the final movie of the second millennium), "Nemesis" (later co-opted for the next movie in the franchise), "Pathfinder" (which was later used in Star Trek: Voyager: Pathfinder (1999) (#6.10)), "Past and Future", "Transcendance", "Rebellion", "Stardust", and just plain old "IX".
