According to the February 21, 1992 edition of show business trade paper 'The Hollywood Reporter', the American Film Institute reports that "John Bandy, who was credited as bar advisor on the film, sued Michael Werner of Tampa, FL, alleging that Werner falsely claimed to be Tom Cruise's bartending teacher." Moreover, the February 27, 1992 edition of the 'The Wall Street Journal' "noted that Werner denied teaching Cruise but acknowledged he taught Bandy bartending techniques when they worked together ten years prior in Houston, TX."
