In La città in controluce: C3H5(NO3)3 (1961), a 1961 episode of the series La città in controluce (1958), J.D. Cannon and Terry Carter portray New York City police officers who are partners on the bomb squad. Howard Rodman, story editor for the episode and several other episodes of that series, was later one of three screenplay writers for the Clint Eastwood film, Coogan's Bluff, on which McCloud was based.
