After this movie, the saving grace to the fortunes and legacy of Twentieth Century Fox came from the phenomenal success of Tutti insieme appassionatamente (1965), an expensive and handsomely produced movie adaptation of the highly acclaimed Rodgers and Hammerstein Broadway musical. It became one of the all-time greatest box-office hits and went on to win five Academy Awards, including Best Director and Best Picture of the Year.
