Had Gene Hackman played Sam Gerard and Kevin Costner played Richard Kimble in this film, they would have reunited after appearing together in Senza via di scampo (1987). However, it was Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford who played the respective roles instead. Hackman and Costner reunited in Wyatt Earp (1994) instead. Costner also worked with Jones on JFK - Un caso ancora aperto (1991) and Criminal (2016).
