Daisy Ridley was frequently caught singing on-set, much to the amusement of the cast and crew. She revealed that she once lost a bet to director J.J. Abrams that she couldn't go a day without singing. Abrams later recommended Ridley to Barbra Streisand, who was producing an album featuring fellow actors.
