Though the house interacts with everyone, Mirabel and Abuela Alma are the only two characters to directly address Casita. Abuela uses Casita to keep family order, whereas Mirabel's interactions are warmer - waving greetings, expressing appreciation, offering assurances, etc. Notably, when the house begins crumbling, Casita responds to Mirabel's call for aid in saving it, while (protectively) ejecting everyone else. They are the keepers of the house/keepers of the magic; this is their gift.
