The size of the Mosasaurus was considerably increased for the movie. The filmmakers report the Mosasaurus measured just over seventy-two feet long, while the largest of this type of marine reptile reached about fifty-nine feet in length. This was probably to make the Mosasaurus' defeat of the Indominus Rex in the finale more feasible.
