According to creator Van Partible, Johnny Bravo's name originated from La famiglia Brady: Adios, Johnny Bravo (1973), where Greg was nicknamed "the next Johnny Bravo". The name was also derived from Partible's middle name, Giovanni Bravo, which is also an Italian name for Johnny.
