When Juliet (Emily Blunt) is being serenaded by Paris (Stephen Merchant), Nanette (Ashley Jensen) dreams that he is singing to her. She fantasizes about being in a pile of red roses petals, with petals covering her modesty. This is an homage to the famous fantasy scene in American Beauty (1999) with Mena Suvari.
