Although Sophie Marceau as Elektra King is the leading lady of this film, she is shown only briefly in the theatrical US release trailer. By comparison, Denise Richards as Dr. Christmas Jones is more prominently featured in the trailer, even though Christmas is more of a supporting character. This is most likely because of Richards' popularity with the American male demographic at the time - and also to help conceal the film's plot twists about Elektra.
