Costume designer Tess Schofield clarified: "For Ayshe [Olga Kurylenko]'s wardrobe, we obtained some lovely materials-jacquards, silks, linens and laces. She's an extremely progressive woman for her period. She comes from a grand, old Ottoman family, so even though they've fallen on hard times, her clothes still have echoes of that past. But there is also a bit of fusion with an early Edwardian look as she's moving into the '20s headfirst." By comparison, Joshua Connor [Russell Crowe]'s attire is more suited for a farmer from the Australian Outback, with looser lines in more muted earth tones.
