In a 2010 interview with Time, Larry David explained the double meaning behind the title of the show: First, to temper Seinfeld lovers' expectations for Curb; second, to curb your enthusiasm in life because it's "unattractive" and "unseemly." David apparently didn't want fans to think Seinfeld 2.0 was coming, knowing that people can have unnecessary expectations.
