Tom Snyder appeared as himself on the show as a candidate for the hosting job for a proposed talk show to follow Larry's. As a direct result of this appearance, David Letterman's Worldwide Pants production company hired Snyder to host The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder (1995), a talk show developed to follow Late Show with David Letterman (1993) each night.
