(at around 18 mins) Jake Gyllenhaal is almost never seen wearing anything other than his full "superhero" suit throughout. It was actually suggested to him he'd wear something else for certain scenes, but according to him, he genuinely liked wearing that suit so much he refused to wear anything else. A keen eye can see Gyllenhaal in character spying on Peter Parker in street clothes just before Peter purchases the Black Dahlia necklace before Hydroman attacks.
