The song "Out With a Bang" by the band Self references this movie in its lyrics: "There was a movie and song by McCartney/It was back in the '80s when Chevy Chase was cool/It was the end of the world, we were with Russian girls/So he asked his American spy friend, with one minute left in all time/'Would you like to go out with a bang?'"
