Ruth Donnelly's characters slips between accents during the party, much the same as Eliza Doolittle does in "Pygmalion." At the time this film was released, Shaw's play (which would further be adapted as "My Fair Lady") had already been produced on Broadway and the West End, and made into several international film versions.
