In the episode, "Call Me a Taxi" from season two, Laverne and Shirley are laid off at the brewery and they become taxi dancers. Laverne's first dance partner of the night was also from season one's episode, "How Do You Say Are You Dead in German?" in which the same actor played a different character named Eric, who was a German immigrant that was fired from the dry cleaners.
