Ophelia (as in Ophelia Hall) was also, of course, the name of one of the prime female characters in William Shakespeare's "Hamlet," where she was driven insane by her love for Hamlet, and committed suicide by drowning. This dark connection could also be another reason for the name of that part of the school.
