Sonic asks if the Rock ( Dwayne Johnson ) is president - a joke referring to recent suggestions that the wrestler could make a run for the office, something he "hasn't ruled out" when asked about it in interviews. Johnson has also been considered to voice Knuckles the Echidna in a future film ultimately the voice role went to Idris Elba.
