In the beach scene where chief Brody is up the tower and Mayor Larry Vaughan speaks with Brody's son while he's painting a beach hut, an early example of a jet ski can be seen, the same as was used in James Bond's La spia che mi amava (1977) a year earlier. In the James Bond movie, a wet bike had never been seen before and was a prototype but when Lo squalo 2 (1978) was released, the Spirit Marine had been commercially launched.
