Uncle Frank is similar in character to the famous Charles Dickens character Ebenezer Scrooge, as both are tight-fisted with money. Frank refused to give money to the pizza delivery driver, using the excuse that it was not his house; he takes advantage of getting free champagne; and did not pay for the trip to Paris, nor Florida in Mamma, ho riperso l'aereo: Mi sono smarrito a New York (1992). Kevin even calls him "Mr. Cheapskate" in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992). Also, like Scrooge, Frank is in general a grumpy and mean person.
