(at around 2h 40 mins) In a deleted scene, called Ismay's guilt, it shows the life boats arriving near the Carpathia, and Bruce Ismay gets on and he looks around as the sad theme plays and everyone in the crowd is watching him. In real life he did the same thing. And in later interviews he "couldn't bear the sight of the Titanic sinking" (in the movie, he indeed averts his eyes from the sinking ship). After the Titanic disaster he kept a low profile. On October 17th, 1937, J. Bruce Ismay died of a stroke and is buried at Putney Vale London cemetery.
