The Seven, as well as the other heroes in The Boys universe, appear to be largely inspired by DC's Justice League, with some elements from Marvel's Avengers, Defenders and X-Men as well: Homelander has the "ultimate heroism" of Superman with the patriotic theme of Captain America.Queen Maeve, a Warrior princess from a mythological land, is based on Wonder Woman.Black Noir, who is Silent, brooding, and a stealthy martial artist is like Batman, has the mutism of Black Bolt, with a bit of G.I. Joe's silent, black-clad ninja of Snake-Eyes.The Deep is based on Aquatic heroes like Aquaman and The Submariner.A-Train and Shockwave are based on speedsters like The Flash and Quicksilver.Starlight is a female hero who can control light and is based on Dr. Light mixed with Dazzler. She is also a naïve newcomer with light-based powers which also fits X-Men's Jubilee as well.Stormfront who can control the weather is based on the X-Men's Storm.Translucent who can turn invisible is based on the Fantastic Four's Invisible Woman.The Lamplighter is based on Marvel villain Pyro.Ezekiel is based on the Fantastic Four's Mr Fantastic.Blindspot, who failed to join the seven is based on Marvel's Daredevil.
