Jane Wyman was 41 years older than Lorenzo Lamas, who played her grandson, in the series. When Earl Hamner Jr. heard of him wanting to audition for Lance, not only the show reunited with Wyman, he also said in an interview, he also beated out 6 other guys for the role, yet, his determination had paid off, consequently, this gave him a lot of opportunity to do things together.
