Cleopatra mentions that she has read "Commentarii de Bello Gallico" (Commentaries on the Gallic War), Caesar's firsthand account of his campaigns in the Gallic Wars (58-50 BC). The book has survived to the modern era and remains a main source on both the war and on Celtic culture. However, the propagandistic nature of the work has led modern historians to question its accuracy.
