Diahann Caroll went from playing unpleasant Dominique Deveroux on Dynasty to playing the unpleasant rich Mrs. Gilbert on A Different World. (Which is interesting, because she did not play those kinds of parts when she was younger. Julia was not a rich rude individual for example!)
