In Bruno's hideaway, there is a seedling in a boot that looks very like the one central to the plot of WALL·E (2008). WALL-E features a lone sentient robot on an Earth that had become so toxic humans exiled themselves to space in order to survive. The plant being able to grow represented hope, as it meant the environment was now healthy and safe enough for people to return.
