During the London premiere of Fast & Furious 7 (2015), Dame Helen Mirren raved about the movie and her wish to appear in a role if there would be a sequel made. She reiterated her wish in an appearance on The Graham Norton Show (2007), saying that she wouldn't need "to act" and would just have fun in the movie. Word got around to Vin Diesel, who wrote a role for her in this movie.
