There is a "No Smoking" sign on the door of the simulator room during the Kobayashi Maru test. According to Michael Okuda, that sign was removed at the request of Gene Roddenberry, who did not see smoking as part of the human lifestyle in the future. However, a "No Smoking" sign can be seen in the Starfleet transporter room in Star Trek III - Alla ricerca di Spock (1984).
