It is revealed in the third season that Argo City survived Krypton's destruction. In the comics, Kara is originally born and raised on Argo City (after Krypton's explosion) from where she was sent to Earth. Subsequent reboots have Kara being sent from Krypton along with Kal-El as depicted in this series.
